I feel honored to have been one of the pioneers of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in the United States. I come from a lineage of BJJ legends, being the eldest of the Machado brothers and cousins to the Gracie family, who created this art. I started my training at the famous Gracie academy, where my uncle, Grandmaster Carlos Gracie, taught and guided me. I followed his footsteps and moved to Copacabana, where I learned from Rolls Gracie until his tragic death. I received my black belt from Carlos Gracie Junior and came to the USA in the early 1990s with my brothers. I founded the Carlos Machado Jiu Jitsu Association, a BJJ organization that is respected and growing worldwide. As a Coral Belt, I own and operate a successful academy in Carrollton, Texas, where I share my passion and experience with students of all levels and ages.

Professor Brad Scott

Hi there! I'm Brad Scott, a martial arts enthusiast for the past 18 years. My journey spans boxing, kickboxing, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, culminating in a 3rd Degree Black Belt under Prof. Carlos Machado. Over the years, I've transitioned from a variety of careers into teaching martial arts - my true passion. I started teaching kids boxing, kickboding and jiu jitsu in 2008. I've spent over fifteen years teaching both kids and adults, reveling in the joy of watching their confidence grow as they master self-defense. Now, as the head instructor at Carlos Machado Jiu-Jitsu Farmers Branch, I can't wait to meet you and help you start your own martial arts journey.

Professor Tony Williams

Hello! I'm Tony Williams, a martial arts aficionado since my 80's childhood. My journey, spanning from Tae Kwon Do and gymnastics to MMA and BJJ, has led me to become a coach at BVMMA under Professor Bubba Bush. Today, I'm thrilled to be part of Carlos Machado Jiu-Jitsu Headquarters, learning from masters Carlos Machado and Brad Scott. As your energetic guide for the 6:00 am and Thursday evening classes, I'm committed to enhancing your BJJ skills and helping you tackle challenges. For me, life is all about God, Family, and the transformative power of Jiu-Jitsu.

  • Trained in Tae Kwon Do, wrestling, and gymnastics.
  • Experienced in MMA and BJJ.
  • Podium finishes in major gi and no-gi tournaments.
  • Coached under Professor Bubba Bush for six years.

Hello! I'm Coach Ray Machado, Master Carlos Machado's eldest son and the Head Kids Instructor at CMJJ. I began my Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey at just three and have been a dedicated student ever since, supplementing my training with wrestling. Now a 21-year-old BJJ Purple Belt, I'm passionate about sharing my knowledge with our Little Jaguars. I focus on instilling discipline, respect, and leadership in my students, both on and off the mat. My wrestling background allows me to enhance their grappling skills through takedown techniques. As a former Basic Machado Jaguar member and now a respected coach, I am committed to continuous improvement in my BJJ skills, teaching methods, and nurturing my students.


Some of my achievements are:


• BJJ training since age 3

• Over 8 years of wrestling experience

• Leader on our training team

• Many BJJ and wrestling tournament wins

• Mentor to many upcoming Academy and Community Leaders.
